Ace Institute of Management is a contemporary, open-minded, conscientious learning center where students at different levels prepare to meet the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. In our graduate school, we broke new ground by launching the first Executive MBA program in Nepal in 1999, the year of our establishment itself. Our MBA program has acquired a distinguished reputation of being the most rigorous and fulfilling experience. In the undergraduate school our BBA program is now considered one of the best in the country and our BBA graduates have been widely sought after in the employment market.
The Ace Higher Secondary School is well-known for its individual centered learning approach. The Centre for Institution and People Development (CIPD), the consulting division of Ace Institute of Management, is another step forward in the institute's efforts of enhancing the capacity of individuals and institutions in Nepal. The launch of Ace A-Level is an additional milestone in our continuous endeavor to serve and facilitate learning.
Academic Programs
Ace Higher Secondary School (+2):
The Ace Higher Secondary School is a wholly owned, subsidiary of Ace Institute of Management. It is affiliated to the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB), Sano Thimi.
The Higher Secondary programme of Ace Institute of Management was established in 1999. The course of study delivered is as prescribed by the HSEB. At the end of each academic year, a Final Board examination is conducted by HSEB for all students enrolled in the programme.
At Ace, we are not limited to the prescribed course outline and ensure that our students gain a vast amount of knowledge, skills and exposure during their study period. We make sure that students have a thorough understanding of their chosen subjects and a strong academic foundation on which they will be able to build their higher education and future careers.
Our Objectives
The objective of the programme is to nurture students into mature individuals who are confident of their knowledge and have a positive outlook. The specific objectives of the programme are:
- Enable thorough subject knowledge and understanding.
- Enhance self-confidence.
Help develop a positive outlook and a questioning spirit.
BBA Degree: The BBA program at Ace is designed to prepare students for positions of leadership and responsibility in the area of business management. The degree is very often referred to as the 'golden passport' as it gives its holder an edge by opening more doors of opportunities. During the 9 years since its launch, the BBA Degree at Ace has been established as one of the widely sought after degrees in the country.
The objective of the program is to create learning opportunities that enables the student to acquire a strong theoretical foundation, practical skills and the attitude to succeed.
The specific objectives are to enable students to:
- Acquire conceptual understanding
- Develop skills to apply knowledge
- Nurture positive attitude and self confidence
MBA Degree:
The total duration of the degree is two years spread over 4 semesters. For successful completion of the degree, a student is required to earn 60 credit hours by successfully completing 20 courses of 3 credits each and a summer internship.
Of the total 20 courses, 16 courses are from the foundation and core areas, which the students must take regardless of their specialization area. The core courses are taught in the first two semesters and they lay a strong foundation in basic subjects and functional areas.
In addition to the foundation and core courses, students are also required to choose a specialization stream and select 4 courses in that stream. The courses in the specialization area intend to develop high degree of competence in the chosen area.
Degree Objectives:
The main objective of the degree is to provide participants the opportunity to enhance their professionalism. It aims to imbibe a sense of strategic outlook to management problems in students. The emphasis, therefore, is on management as an integrated process and requires the students to develop a global view of economic, technological, cultural and political environment of business.
The program specifically intends to:
- develop resourceful individuals capable of addressing the challenges of the 21st century
- broaden the career prospects of participants by imbibing a strategic outlook in them
- enhance their initiative and employability by developing their professionalism
EMBA Degree:
The Executive MBA degree is designed for professionals who are career-minded, hardworking, goal-oriented and committed to achieving a brighter future. With an exciting mix of professionals from all sectors, Ace has an environment from which all can benefit.
The program prepares managers who are comfortable in a wide range of disciplines and culture, and are able to exploit the opportunities for growth presented by the possibility of innovation. The program introduces ideas and frameworks that are immediately applicable to one's area of work and provides the chance to develop knowledge and experience.
The program is designed and implemented to accommodate time constraints of working professionals. Classes are conducted in the evening (after office hours). In doing so, it caters to employees who are working full time and still intend to fulfill their higher education aspiration without having to compromise on either end.
The EMBA program is affiliated to Pokhara University. All graduating students are conferred the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) Degree by Pokhara University, upon successful completion of the program.
Degree Objectives:
The main objective of the program is to provide the opportunity to the participants to enhance their professionalism. The program has been designed to meet the career needs of participants. It aims to achieve the following specific objectives;
- Enable participants to think strategically and develop confidence in a wide range of managerial functions
- Develop skills to manage people and processes effectively
- Improve job efficacy and broaden career prospects of participants
- Develop resourceful individuals capable of addressing the challenges of the 21st century workplace
- Develop professional managers who can effectively lead their organizations in this highly dynamic and competitive environment
- Allow participants to network with contemporary leaders of Nepal
MBAe Degree
The MBAe degree is for young aspirants who want to earn a MBA degree and work experience together. This program allows fresh graduates to work and study together without compromising on either. The program accommodates your need to learn and earn together.
The program is similar to the regular MBA. On completion of the program, the student will be conferred the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree by Pokhara University.
The main differences in MBA & MBAe are:
Minimum time of completion: 3 years, spread over 6 semesters. Since the participants’ need is to learn and work together, the 3 year period will allow participants to settle in their jobs as well as put the required effort to earn a degree without compromising on the learning. In this way, the participants are not over burdened with the rigors of the program and also have the required time to withstand the pressures of a new job.
- Corresponding study plan: The study plan accommodates the learning needs of the participants and the minimum time of completion. It ensures that the participants are not overloaded with course work and therefore will not be compromising on their acquisition of knowledge and skills. Therefore, in the first 4 semesters participants are required to take 3 courses of 3 credits each and 4 courses of 3 credits each in the 5th & 6th semesters.
- Class timings:
- Semester 1-4, 1 class per day of 2 hours (6:00 pm - 8:00 pm). 6 days a week (Sunday-Friday)
- Semester 5 & 6, 2 classes per day of 1.5 hours each (5:30 pm - 7:00 pm & 7:30 - 9:00 pm). 4 days a week (Monday-Thursday)
- Examinations: The participants of the MBAe program will take the same examination as the MBA regular students conducted by the university.

A-Level
Ace Institute of Management offers the Advanced Level (A-Level and AS Level) programme conducted by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), University of Cambridge, UK. This programme will primarily be focused on management related subjects.
The Ace A-Level programme is unique in its own right. We offer management subjects with a high emphasis on practical application skills and knowledge. We have a project-based learning approach to all subjects and students are encouraged to explore, experiment, challenge and lead the learning process.
Objective
The objective of the Ace A-Level programme is to create learning opportunities that will prepare students to compete at an international level.
The specific objectives of the programme are:
- to develop capacity in students to compete internationally
- to expose students to a variety of life-enriching experiences
- to develop a broad conceptual and skill base in students
- to facilitate students' need to develop leadership and management skills
- to nurture positive attitude and self confidence in students
