ImageI came to Jacobs University from Budhanilkantha School, Kathmandu, Nepal. I chose to study at Jacobs University due to its “Transdiciplinary” approach. Jacobs University provided me with the exact kind of studies I was looking for. I wanted to become an Electrical Engineer since my childhood days and at the same time, was very much interested in economics and psychological studies. Back home, to become an Electrical Engineer and at the same time take courses related to economics and psychology was simply impossible.

My major is Electrical and Computer Engineering. The world of tomorrow will be heavily influenced by electronics. Hence, I chose this field of study to be ahead in the future. Jacobs University offers a wonderful combination of both the Electrical and Computer portions of this course. Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, a major which is very close to my major can be of special interest to many. Anyone more interested in the Electrical part can study Electrical & Computer Engineering while those with more interest in the Computers part can major in Computer Science. And above all, in Jacobs University one can change his/her major after the completion of the first year of studies and still graduate without any extra semesters. This gives a lot of options to those high school graduates who are undecided on what they want to do in the future. My favorite course is the Digital Signal Processing Lab because here I am allowed to use my creativity along with the theory that I have learnt and actually implement all of this on a circuit board.

Here, you find truly international and co-educational environment where everyone is eager to help. You have a reason, (place and opportunity) to party every weekend. Germany is “The Heart of Europe”. Students from Jacobs University can easily spend a weekend, semester break or the intersession, visiting fascinating destinations for students such as Amsterdam and Paris as these cities are not far away.

If you are looking for a challenging and enjoyable place to pursue your undergraduate studies in just 3 years then this is the place for you. Apply early and do not wait till the last moment as the visa processing takes quite some time.
