They are attracted by the rich social, cultural, and linguistic diversities in Nepal. The number of international students is growing steadily every year. The students/ researchers come here either to join regular courses (part or full) or for research (degree or non-degree) - mostly as partial fulfillment of their studies of their own universities. They do not earn credits at Tribhuvan University but receive certificates for their academic achievements. They generally, come from countries like India, China, Japan, Britain, the United States and many other countries and engage themselves in the subject-areas like language, culture, sociology, medicine and engineering. Usually, there are three types of international students: (1) those who come on their own, (2) those who are sponsored, and (3) those who come on exchange programs under bilateral agreements between Tribhuvan University and their native universities or institutes. International students get necessary guidance and help from the Centre for International Relations of TU.
