Mission Statement

The mission of the School of Arts is to prepare students for professional careers, to develop student mastery of subject matter appropriate to the particular field of study, to develop competencies in critical thinking, and to enhance student creativity. Through a varied course delivery system, the School helps students realize their educational and career goals. The school also provides a unique forum for international students and scholars to learn understand and explore the rich cultural and traditional heritage of Nepal.

School of Education

School of Science

School of Science was established on 16th July 1992, and has been running an Intermediate of Science (I. Sc.) level program since that date.

The School of Science currently offers the following four year undergraduate courses:

B. Pharm.

B. Sc. in Environmental Science

B. Tech in Environmental Engineering

B. Sc. Honours in Computer Science

B. Sc. In Biotechnology

B. Sc. in Human Biology (Department of Natural Sciences)

Similarly,The School also offers the following two years graduate courses:

M. Sc in Environmental Science

M. Pharm in Pharmacy

The School launched researched-based Master.s level program in Environmental Science and Pharmacy starting from September 2000. The M. Phil. and Ph. D. programs in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry were launched in 1997.

School of Engineering

School develops creative leaders equipped with the quality knowledge and skills to solve the complex engineering problems as well as innovative technologies and intellectual properties as a contribution to the society.

Kathmandu University established in 1991 started its engineering education programs from 1994. It is the first educational institute in Nepal to start undergraduate and graduate level degree programs in mechanical, electrical, electronics and computer engineering studies.

The education system of the School is especially focused on projects and applied research works where students from the very first semester of undergraduate undergo practical training and produce creative engineering models.
